BPD Identify Victim in Burning Vehicle

Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives have identified the victim who was found Wednesday morning, October 28th, inside of a burning vehicle.

Chief of Detectives, Dennis J. Richards, said the death of 34 year old Shawn Wilson of Buffalo has been ruled a homicide. An autopsy has determined that Wilson was shot and stabbed.

Buffalo firefighters responded to a call of a car fire just before 2am Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Roma Avenue. Shortly after arriving on scene, firefighters discovered the victim's body in the back seat of the burning car.

Richards said, "Our investigation is trying to determine what his last movements were, where he might have been and who he might have been with".

Amherst police report that Wilson was shot  on September 19th on Allenhurst Road.

Buffalo police and Amherst police are working together to see if the incidents might be connected.
