Late Tuesday night, November 24th, Buffalo police arrested an individual in connection in connection with four recent thefts at churches.

Police have arrested 36 year old Sandra M. Abrams of Buffalo and charged her with three counts of grand larceny and one count of petit larceny.

Abrams is accused of stealing either purses, wallets, credits cards or other valuables during the thefts that occurred on November 15th at two downtown churches and two north Buffalo churches.

Buffalo police alerted the public of the the thefts and put out a picture of Abrams that was obtained through surveillance video from a downtown gas station.

Police believe Abrams went to the gas station after one of the incidents on November 15th.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Abrams was picked up Erie County Sheriff deputies who located her hiding out in a trailer in the southtowns.

Abrams was then turned over to Buffalo police who officially charged her Tuesday night.

Police want to remind individuals to remain alert at all times and not to leave purses or other valuables unattended while at church.
