BPD Continues Crackdown on Illegal Drugs

The Buffalo Police Department continued it's relentless crackdown on illegal drug activity in the city after executing a search warrant that netted over $30,000 in heroin and cocaine.

The Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit executed the warrant in an upper apartment at 356 Prospect Avenue on Monday afternoon, March 29th.

Detectives seized over 3 ounces of heroin and a half ounce of cocaine. The street value of the heroin alone is about $20,000.

Police arrested 55 year old Francisco Vega of that address and charged him with Criminal Possession of Cocaine, Criminal Possession of Heroin and other charges.

Under Mayor Byron W. Brown's Zero Tolerance Policy, over 260 search warrants have already been executed in the City of Buffalo this year, with the bulk of those warrants for illegal drugs.

Lt. Paul R. Delano and Detective Sgt. Brenda Callahan led the investigation with Thomas Doctor the arresting offcer.
