Brown and the Buffalo Police Department today announced the completion of a search warrant at a West Side residence, that netted five guns, including two assault weapons. “We continue to make our neighborhoods safer,” said Mayor Brown. “I will remain focused on measures to reduce crime. The raids that we execute send a strong message to criminals. If you are doing or selling drugs, or have illegal weapons, we will find you and put you in jail.” Buffalo Police Narcotics Detectives executed the warrant on Monday night, March 28th, just before 7:30pm at 301 West Avenue in the lower front apartment. “Our Narcotics Squad continues to hit every part of the city through raid efforts,” said Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda. “We are intent on improving the quality of life for our citizens in the City of Buffalo and we thank them for their anonymous tips that have led to many of these search warrants.” Since 2010, overall crime in the City of Buffalo is down nearly 10%, with shootings down almost 50% since the same time last year.
