Home » Press Releases » 2011 News Archive » Tips Lead to Quick Arrest of Bank Robber Tips Lead to Quick Arrest of Bank RobberJust hours after Buffalo police released surveillance photos of a Person of Interest in connection with a Kenmore Avenue bank robbery, the individual was picked up and charged. Police arrested 47 year old Ronald J. Artley of Buffalo and charged him in connection with the Wednesday afternoon, February 9th robbery, of the HSBC Bank on Kenmore Avenue near Englewood Avenue. After Buffalo police released the photos to the media, tips on the individual and his whereabouts began coming in. Artley was located by Amherst police in the 3600 block of Main Street just before midnight on Wednesday and then turned over to Buffalo police who officially charged him with Robbery in the 3rd degree. Buffalo police were also assisted by Hamburg police, Kenmore police, Town of Tonawanda police and West Seneca police. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45pm at the HSBC branch when police say Artley entered the bank, approached a teller, demanded money and then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
