BPD Investigate first homicide of 2012

January-12-2012 — Buffalo police continue to investigate this year's first recorded homicide, which was discovered around 1pm Thursday afternoon. Northeast District police had responded to a house on Roebling Avenue after family members discovered the lifeless body of Arthur Walton. He was 54 years old.

While there weren't signs of a forcible entry at the home, there were indications that the house had been ransacked.

The victim had lived alone in the house in which he was discovered. Detectives continue to determine what, if anything may have been taken from the residence. His body was removed to the Erie County Morgue, where an autopsy was conducted.

The victim's death has been ruled a homicide, with the cause of death due to trauma from blunt force, as well as multiple stab wounds.
Police continue to seek the public's assistance, with anyone having information regarding this matter asked to call the police TIPCALL number -
