Police Search for Doctor in Hospital Shooting

June-15-2012 — UPDATE: Authorities have discovered the body of Dr. Timothy Jorden in an area nearby his residence in Lakeview, NY. Police will provide a further update at 5:30 this afternoon at Buffalo Police Headquarters.

Local law enforcement officers continue to search for a person of interest in the shooting death of a woman at Erie County Medical Center early Wednesday morning.

Police are looking for Dr. Timothy V. Jorden, 49 years old, of Lakeview, NY. The victim, identified as Jacqueline Wisniewski, 33 years old, was shot at around 8:00 am at the David K. Miller building on the Erie County Medical Center grounds, 462 Grider Street in Buffalo.

"The hospital had been thoroughly searched, and police continue checking possible locations where the person of interest may have fled to, including a home in Lakeview, NY. The doctor is considered to be armed and dangerous," said Dennis J. Richards, chief of Detectives.

Police continue looking for the person of interest, who has been described as having lost weight in the recent past, and may have facial hair.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Buffalo police and other agencies have been searching the area in and around Dr. Timothy Jorden’s Lakeview, N.Y. residence on Thursday.

Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda says Buffalo police are working with local, state and federal agencies in the search.
