BPD Make Arrest in January 2012 Fatal Shooting

Buffalo police homicide detectives have arrested an individual in connection with a January 2012 fatal shooting.

Detectives Salvatore Valvo and James Lema charged 21 year old Laquann Morgan of Buffalo with murder in the 2nd degree in the shooting death of 25 year old Adrian L. Huggins Jr.

The incident occurred January 8th of last year near the intersection of Dodge Street and Wohlers Avenue just before 7pm.

Huggins died from his injuries, 11 days later, on January 19th at the Erie County Medical Center.

"The victim was a front seat passenger in a vehicle, when the suspect approached, and fired numerous shots, which struck both the driver and Mr. Huggins - who succumbed to his injuries eleven days later", according to Dennis J. Richards, chief of detectives.

The suspect has been in custody on unrelated charges, and was arraigned on the murder count in Buffalo City Court this morning.
