Koons Avenue Body Identified by BPD
Buffalo Police have identified the body of a female, who was found deceased in a rear yard of a vacant house on Koons Avenue, last week. Chief of Detectives, Dennis J. Richards, said that testing has positively confirmed the identity of the deceased, as Shantin Grant. Ms. Grant, of Berkshire Avenue, was 16 years old, and had been reported missing to police earlier in the month. Her family was notified Wednesday evening by Homicide Detectives.
Ferry Fillmore District Officers and Homicide Detectives were called to the scene in the 300 block of Koons Avenue, Friday night, July 11th. Young children who were playing, had made the discovery of the teen's body in a backyard. "The cause of death remains under investigation", according to Richards.
