Alert: BPD Make Public Aware of Text Message Scam

Buffalo police are alerting the public in connection with an apparent text message scam.

Police believe unauthorized individuals are sending text messages to people, claiming they're from the Buffalo Credit Union. In the message, individuals are told that their ATM card has been suspended and then given a number to reactivate their card by entering your card number.

Police urge you not to release personal information to strangers or if something sounds suspicious.
